Dr. Charles E. Jordan, III, M.D.

Dr. Charles E. Jordan, III, M.D.

Dr. Jordan is the 1973 founding partner of Upper Cumberland Otolaryngology after completing residency at The Ohio State University. He is the Oversight Director for the Cookeville Hearing Center.

He provides full service Ear, Nose and Throat medical and surgical treatment. He has been Chairman of the Surgery Department at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and Chairman of the Surgery Credentialing Committee. He has served the local community on the Board of Directors for Putnam Area Chamber of Commerce and Cookeville Rotary Club, and served as Rotary Assistant District Governor 2003-2004.

This 1955 Eagle Scout has worked with youth in the Upper Cumberland as Assistant Scout Master Troop 108. He has coached YMCA Soccer and officiated TSSAA Football.

Karen S. Brandt, M.A., CCC-A, FAAA

Karen S. Brandt, M.A., CCC-A, FAAA.

Karen joined the Cookeville Hearing Center in July 2011. She received her undergraduate degrees in Speech and Hearing Science and Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1989. She received her Master of Arts in Audiology from The University of Akron in 1991. Karen's practice has included all areas of audiology at the Youngstown Hearing and Speech Center in Ohio and at Ball Memorial Hospital in Indiana. She has completed additional training under Dr. Fred Bess, Director of The National Center for Childhood Deafness and former Director of Vanderbilt's Bill Wilkerson Center and former Professor and Chair of the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at Vanderbilt. She worked as Director of the Newborn Hearing Screening Program at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She is certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and is an associate member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.

Karen and her husband Robert have three children Benjamin, Rebekah, and Meghan. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and serving at Lighthouse Christian Camp and in the community. She looks forward to providing an entire range of audiologic services for individuals of all ages and their loved ones.
