Audigy Assistive Listening and Communication Technology

female audiologist photo

Assistive listening and communication technologies are designed for people of all ages with a variety of hearing requirements. Some are designed to work in conjunction with and increase the effectiveness of today's state-of-the art hearing aids. These technologies are meant to further improve one's safety and quality of life. Essentially they are amplifiers that carry improved sound quality directly to the ear. They separate sounds, particularly speech, that a person wants to hear while in noisy situations. They improve what is known as the "speech to noise ratio." According to research studies, individuals with a hearing loss require a volume (signal to noise ratio) increase of 15 to 25 dB in order to achieve the same level of understanding as people with normal hearing. Many listening environments and activities may be enhanced by assistive listening technology, including, watching television, speaking on the telephone and conversing in noisy settings.

Many technologies are engineered as standalone devices and do not require the use of a hearing aid. The variety of products displayed in this booklet were chosen by AudigyCertified™ professionals as the best in their product categories. Do not hesitate to ask your AudigyCertified™ professional for information on a product not shown.
